Russia Gosloto 6/45 History

The Gosloto lottery series was originally founded in 2003.  These lotteries are due to an agreement between the Russian Government and the private Orglot Ltd.  The Gosloto 6/45 was first drawn in October 2008 and instantly gained a dedicated following.

The Gosloto series was established to provide funding for Russian sport related initiatives and has given millions of dollars to that cause.

How it Works

The Gosloto runs on a traditional 6/45 system, meaning that players select six numbers from a range of one to forty-five.  Players select either four block or six block forms which can be selected with your own lucky numbers or a randomly generated quick picks.  There is also a special form that when selected will give players the winning edge by producing all number combinations from 8, 9, 10, or 11 numbers.

The draws take place every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday.

How to Win

To win the jackpot, players must match all six winning numbers.  There are secondary prizes for matching from 2, 3, 4, or 5 numbers making the winning odds an astonishing 1:7.

The minimum jackpot is around $311,000 but since there is no rollover cap, the jackpot can rise a lot.  The largest jackpot ever won since the Gosloto 6/45 has been in operation was $4.2 million dollars.

Lottery prize money in Russia is subject to 13% tax and winnings are awarded in one lump sum.
